Three Boys, Two Guns, One Sheriff

Each time I think about injuries from firearms, I recall an article I read many years ago titled: Three Boys, Two Guns, One Sheriff by Larry Simoneaux. It is a great article about responsibility and accountability, but also about how communities used to help raise youngsters and promote gun safety. Originally, I thought about going into great depth about his article, but quickly realized I could write a ten-page essay on his one page article. So instead, I contacted Larry and simply asked if I could post his article on this blog so that you could read it firsthand without my extended philosophical ramblings.

I know many of you are less than enamored with guns. Absolutely despise the carnage that results from their improper or illegal use.

Here’s something you should know. Law-abiding gun owners hate it even more. So, rather than spouting statistics for 800 words or so, I thought I’d tell a story.
